    Direct Entry?

    I'm currently doing an Engineering degree, and have heard about some kind of "direct entry" into the PDF (as a Captain in the Eng. Core?) for people with Eng. degrees. How factual is this? Where can I find information about it? army.ie failed to supply me with anything.

    Also, what's the general feeling about officers who have done (what I've heard called) this "shoot n' salute" course?

    They're advertising for engineers at the moment. I think the ad said you go in as a 1st Lt, not a captain. Ring the competitions section.

      Well, I'm a good two years off finishing the degree, I'm just looking for information. Anyone else?

          I was looking into the same, but could not find any information also. For example entry requirements, duration ect.

              Onced you graduate the competitions are advertised in the IEI magazine...

              Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

                          Does anyone know if I can get direct entry into the engineers with an electronic engineering degree? Some people have told me I can others said I can't.

                            Only if there is a competition for an engineering officer that requires you to have an electronic engineering degree.
