And yes i do think they should get all the same gear, but do a recruit and 3 star cpourse resembling the pdf courses!

Yes with the provision that;

1. That RDF service is taken seriously. You sign on for three years you serve three years and put in the required training time.

2. That reservists are used and abused in exactly the same way that PDF are.

Other than that lashing out very expensive kit is a waste of OUR money.

As has been proved beyond belief some in the RDF hah failed to take control of their boots yet...but yet their officers thinkt they are alright...and I see the prospective officers...can we have our .303s back..I'm subtly ebarrsed...its funny with all the input the candidates are definetly did imoroving...kermit your drillis a disgarce and if was in charge of the suqare you would be out in the car park

all kit should be on issue but how is that going to happen when some people who got there 1st issue
of clothing 4/5years ago are walking around in rags due to wear and tear (and it not me) sort out basic clothing before looking for everthing else

I think that all reserves should be properly equipped, however, a lot of reservist members give their organisation a bad name in that they put in the minimum or less than minimum commitment and if there is one thing worse than a poorly equipped reservist and that is a reservist with an attic full of goretex DPM kit but virtually no commitment to the service.

And therefore, I did not vote, as I agree with all three options, by the way does anyone know why he was banned?

Personally i don't actually think that an RDF private and a PDF private should get the same gear, but the gear should be available at Company level and not just Batt. level. Though we do have equipment in the Company it is getting seriously dated, (is this the case all over the country?) the equipment should be given out only if required by the RDF private for camps weekends etc. Theres no point in giving us all that equipment because it won't be used often enough to warrant us getting it, well that is the situation at the moment hopefully that will all change with the re-org, maybe then my answer might be different

Yeah we have to standardise the kit accross the board.Especially if were supposed to be integrated.I cant stand the '58 pattern either we look like eastern bloc rabble in the stufff.And what I cant stand is these Rambos going buying this chest rig,most of the time their not allowed wear it anyway-I even saw this one guy who got an assault vest off the 'net,then he realised it would'nt hold Steyr magazines!! D'oh!!!!
