The RDF contains two elements - the First Line Reserve and the Second Line Reserve (Army Reserve and NS Reserve).

Not sure about DEs but line PDF officers are assigned to the First Line Reserve (FLR) after there PDF service has finished. If they want to join the Army / NS Reserve and keep their rank they have to transfer.

If a PDF DE officer retires, and then goes to join the RDF, do they keep their rank? Or are officers in general not allowed do this? Or can DE (ie specialised) officers only join RDF units of the same Corps that they retired from?
