Information on Irish ARW

I'm new to this site but have a keen interest in the Irish Army Rangers.

I had the pleasure of some meeting some of them on a professional basis a few years in the past but I was wondering if any subscribers to this site had any information that does not appear on the various official sites.

My interest is based broadly on their involvment in homeland operations. I know that the police service in Ireland has its own specialist operations force which probably exceeds the Ranger abilities but any information would be grateful.

I look forward to reading past issues on the forum and contributing perhaps in the future.

Many users will have information about the ARW which is not in the public domain, however none of it will be posted here, as it is operational information.

I am not an expert on the Rangers or the Garda ERU but I would say the rangers abilities probably exceeds that of the ERUs.

I'm curious, you're from isreali how might you have met them on a professional capacity? Lebannon?

It is not appropriate for me to discuss the contact i have engaged in with the Irish Rangers.

I do wish to develop a better understanding of their position in their homeland. Any operational aspects of their mission is available to me but their homeland national mission is not clearly defined.

It is our understanding that the operators of the police force specialist unit are the foremost experts in CT and all intervention. If this is incorrect I apologise however no information exists in Ranger involvment in the nation.

Little Known Facts About The ARW

1. All Irish pubs are required by law to have one alcoholic regular who used to be a member of the ARW

2. During selection, potential ARW recruits are required to bite the head off a live ferret.

3. All ARW men must now sign a contract agreeing never to disclose anything about their service, never to call any officer 'Sir' and never to trim their moustaches.

4. They are vulnerable to kryptonite, but only during a full moon.

5. The ARW eat reservists as a light snack before their infinity miles run every day, this is why there is such a high turnover in the RDF.
