  • Russian Lad who nicked a boat

    Lone sailor rescued from small boat
    Saturday, 29 September 2007 11:45
    A lone sailor, who may have been at sea for more than a month on a stolen yacht, has been rescued by the Naval Service.

    The 22-year-old man, who is believed to be Russian, is fit and well.

    feck me

    did anyone aee the size of the boat

    it was tiny and I mean tiny-

    the poor clown thought he was still sailing up the French Coast

    this was one very very luck ruskie.

    its great to see the combination of the French- RAF and our own Navy in the rescue of this

    lad

    well done to all concerned
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

      Hmm me an connie and Tommo never got the same publicity for knicking a halfdecker to get back to ship in Feb 87 after the last launch had gone..didn't take a nimord and the RNLI to finds us..PO Sig John Kerwick found us fast enough when he hoticed the half decker tied up at the accom
      ladder ! and we got 14 days......not to return it but to save a few quid!

                  I understand the boat he was in was too small for the boarding party to board...

                  Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

                    That's the one. When I first heard 'stolen yacht', I had something in mind a bit bigger than a 12-foot dinghy.

                    230 miles off-shore, for the better part of a month?!

                    NTM

                            the boarding party would remind me of the House search in 'The Life of Brian' Clomp ! Clomp! clomp!..theres nothing here sir!

                              He's formally applied for asylum and is no longer in Garda custody. He's apparantly mute aswell.
