    Might be slightly off thread here

    but tonight on "Rescue" they were doing the show about the Belderig Cave Rescue

    those Garda divers/ Coast Guard personnel/ Civy Divers/ Fishermen

    were some brave lads.

    The coast guard people all seemed to have the same medal on their shirts- anyone know what it is

    or what their rank markings are..
    Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
    Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
    The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
    The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
    The best lack all conviction, while the worst
    Are full of passionate intensity.

      Just explained on the show- I will post just to let others know

      the medal is the Michael Heffernan medal for Maritime bravery

      named in memory of one of the people who died.
