    As far as i know it was the maritime inscription that manned the various lookout posts around the country.
    The marine service were the ones that became the naval service after the emergency.

    The military archives are in Cathal Brugha Bks. look up the government pages at the start of the phonebook for their phone number.

    two problems, first i need to know during the war years was it the maritime inscription who manned the look out posts during the emergency along the coast?

    and where are the irish military archives?
