The Dutch are really starting to step up their lobbying for defence contracts here it seems, but how “smaller” could you make the Doorman design and at what cost? I mean unless the design has its beam significantly reduced it’s too big for Cobh, and how much capability of the ship would be lost in any reduction? On the other hand something even 2/3s the size would be a massive step up?
It's based on an Enforcer 9000 LPD. Dock and associated ballasting systems have been removed and replaced with appropriately rescaled stern features of the HNLMS Karel Doorman JSS and the boat deck from the (as yet unbuilt) Damen Crossover Amphibious Transport. (The version with the higher in-built capacity crane). Enclosed RAS system is from a Polish proposal for a 'stealthy' logistics ship for operations in the Baltic.
I've stayed away from elevators/ramps to the flight deck because of the disproportionate weight/cost/loss of usable space in a relatively small vessel. Envision adjustable vehicle decks towards the bow and, also possibly, a ramp down to a half-height vehicle deck instead.
Was a draftsman (non-naval) once upon a time.
Remember doing the calculations at the time. If I recall correctly; it could carry full vehicles & equipment for a EBG ISTAR component, but couldn't operate medivac helos until the flight deck had been cleared of LTVs.

Unless the "Patrol" section of the requirement has been dropped I can't really see any of the LST type offerings meeting the bill, I'd question even the Enforcers tbh?
