  • Whats this clown on about?

    On a thread on P.ie celebrating the promotion of the new Flag Officer,

    some clown asked this

    How about a real an audit of spending in the Naval Service?

    EG.
    1. Excessive use of tugs (external provider) for basic ship movements in Cork Harbour !!
    2. Cost of on shore messing in Haulbowline.

    And there are lots more.......

    There is a 99.9999999% chance that its Jim Corr talking a load of gick-

    but does anyone of you seahags have any idea what he is on about?

    I had a look at the thread and his/her comments can be summed up thus:

    government=evil.
    It's a common theme from certain posters on P.ie

      They have a point, though
      'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
      'Unselfishly so we might have today!'

        I think that "excessive use of tugs" describes most posters on P.ie because they are indeed a shower of wankers!

        Also they haven't a clue about the DF.

              Just wondered into this thread ----> http://www.politics.ie/defence/13963...ce-forces.html

              This post made me laugh out load

              Scrap the free state army. The IRA is the only Irish army that fights the enemies of Ireland.

              I know, I know, it's off topic

                1. Have to agree about the excessive use of tugs. Compared to civie masters of vessels;
                naval captains have very poor ability when coming alongside. Have only recently been on the bridge of 35,000 t going A/S at St. Malo France. The captain brought her onto the quay wall as if he was riding a honda 50. And St. Malo is tighter than a virgin on the reeperbahn.

                2. The poster on P.ie obviously never seen the lads from Haulbowline on a foreign cruise if he thinks that the provos are the only army that fights the 'enemies of Ireland'

                  Expect a lot of this kind of twaddle as every keyboard warrior leaps to defend the sick and the lame by blaming the Public Service... who of course are exactly the ones defending the sick and the lame !! However yiz can all relax as getting rid of Israel comes first.

                    I thought that the Provo's and their ilk were "the enemies of Ireland"?

                    p.s. Mugs, if you are back on that site, do you want to point out to that poster that the last few times the IRA directly took on the "free state" army (1922, 1940) they got their arrse handed to them on a plate, so why should the "free state" army be disbanded in favour of a historically inferior force?
