  • Congratulations

Well done to each and every member of the Irish Defence forces today for a brilliant turn out for the visit of HM Queen Elizabeth, it was a very proud moment for the country and a fantastic display of our country's military personnel.

"Curteis don banri Eilis a dó"
Probably the most historic words ever spoken by the commander of a GoH?

And the most unique as I don't think it will every happen again in her life time.

Have to say there was an immense swelling of pride from within when I heard the officer hand over his GOH and then called it to the salute.

Some breaks to be gleaned from this one....it will like the SAS in 1982..where akin to a division of people claimed to be on the insertion party..in this case the whole of the DF will have claimed to been on that GOH.

Didn't see any ladies amongts the ranks of the GOH....did I miss out?

Oh the officer bird on the bike......well done !
Covid 19 is not over ....it's still very real..Hand Hygiene, Social Distancing and Masks.. keep safe

I did..and saw how fast she moved when the queen did a bit of a speed wobble at the table.

the post was made prior to this the reference was made to the GOH at the Aras.

                    Well done to all.
'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
                    Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

                        But there's no danger
                        It's a professional career
                        Though it could be arranged
With just a word in Mr. Churchill's ear
If you're out of luck you're out of work
We could send you to johannesburg.
