  • New Rank Markings (Senior Chief & Warrant)

Just wondering what the regulars think of the new Senior Chief and Warrant officer rank markings.

Theres no offical announcement on them and a lot are confusion regarding the Senior Chief rank markings with the old Warrant officer rank marking.

Sorry for no pictures of the new epaulettes.

The NS wore them originally on working dress but reverted to the Gold on Blue and the NSR remained with the light blue, would have been early to mid nineties.

          Description?

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

Does this mean that SCPO's will wear an officer's tunic and buttons? What about their cap badge?

Didn't SPO's get to wear the CPO cap badge a few years back?

This only lasted for a few years before the NSR also switched to gold.

The SCPOS navy already wear an officer tunic with eight buttons opposed to four. Wasn't always the case though but there are some guys pictured on the FB page. Mate of mine got promoted recently and it was the first thing I slagged him off over as he was wearing the wrong tunic.

WOs wear an officers style badge, where SCPOs wear a senior ratings badge, given the rank wasn't even a recognised rank outside of the Supplies branch as its an army equitable rank , up to the 80's and and again SPO is a 'Q' rank, there was always some derision over this.

I think the warrant officers uinform, rank markings and capbadge should have remained unique.

SPOs have worn the CPOs badge for many years now,at least 30!

                        *Edited, should work now.

These are the ones worn with DPM.

The ones with GDR & SD1 have no anchor

                          Sadly no.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
