Pontus hq ports also seemed to be more Malta based, while Sophia seems to be more Sicily or Italy.
German 1: Private Schnutz, I have bad news for you.
        German 2: Private? I am a general!
German 1: That is the bad news.

PONTUS was an Irish mission so no real HQ, but the AFM provided support AFAIK.

Politics is what it is and Governments evolve from the decisions of the community at the ballot box. However we are being assailed by domestic and global problems that are eating up the tolerance and ability to cope both at National and EU levels. The world is in crisis shaken by the actions of the Bigger Five and the aggressive stance of National Governments to the plight of the Middle East and the African Continent.
We have seen nothing yet unless countries are stabilized and released from perpetual War , starvation, and a National fabric capable of giving normal life to their peoples. The UN must be reorganised to give greater oversight on National Governance with emphasis on an Early Warning System on Governments likely to collapse. Our actions in OPS' Sophia and Pontus were/are dealing with fallout and must in the medium term continue unless we are happy to allow loss of life to do the job for us, even though the victims may not have decided to make the trip.

Our P62 James Joyce will be in Cobh Roads at 11.00ish today 27th October 2018 having completed her mission on Mediterranean Operation Sophia. Imagine 4 x 90 meter ships all of same class in our challenged Navy. Some major initiatives to be planned and also get ready for the next rotation in 2019.

Wonder what the odds of the other missions are? I mean we were looking at deploying to the Africa mission before we did the Med?

There could yet be a similar mission in St Georges Channel if brexit goes no-deal...
