Isn’t the improvement in capability, it’s sea going capability?
Thats all. Seakeeping an improvement over the P50s (more efficient powerplant, and the Bow is designed to be stronger than the P50s) but otherwise verry little extra in real terms.
No air search radar as promised, 3 x TEU positions aft configured in such a way as to make it useless for launching UAV etc. Engineering layout far less maintenance friendly than its predecessors. As an all purpose naval vessel, they are just about capable of providing a presence.
As an armed fishery protection vessel however, they are as good as any.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
