  • What to get for the next generation OPV / MRV

This is what the NS should be looking at for ther next generation of ships & it should be Navy run & not AC run.

    Bell Eagle Eye HV-911
    Number Planned: 45
    Maximum Airspeed: 220 KTS
    Cruise Speed: 185 KTS
    Endurance: 3.0 hours @ 100NM
    Dimensions: Height 5.7 FT
    Length: 17 FT
    Wing Span: 15.2 FT

The VUAV is a short-range, shipboard deployable unmanned aircraft. The VUAV will allow the Coast Guard to extend the surveillance, classification and identification capability of its major cutters through its speed, range, and endurance and at a lower cost. This asset will be used to support maritime homeland security, search and rescue missions, enforcement of laws and treaties including illegal drug interdiction, marine environmental protection, and military preparedness. The Eagle Eye will be deployed aboard the National Security Cutter (NSC) and the Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC) as part of the Maritime Security Cutter “force package”.

    Features
Ability to transmit Electro-Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) imagery that will improve the Common Operational Picture (COP) to a range of 100NM from the flight deck-equipped cutter.

Definitely. Why not. We already have the platform for it. I'm sure they could move the gym equip out of the way and it may even fit in eithnes hangar.

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

The NS shouldn't have any problem finding operators for it! i hear the ratio of Playstations and X boxes on board is two for every crewmember!
Once more unto the breach, dear friends
