BNS Pollux currently in Cork City until Tuesday. Did a Passex with L.E. Roisin on her way here on Thursday. Fine looking ship. Not exactly dissimilar to the IPVs due in April.
Aft layout is interesting. Stern launcher (which can be used when ship is underway), and davit starboard, which requires the ship to come to a stop to deploy. The space in front of the "funnel" as being used as an outdoor seated space in the photo, but is set up to accept any standard TEU for use as diving support or in anti-pollution role.
Main armament is a 12.7mm HMG, with additional GPMG on the bridge wing. Seems it spends a lot of its time escorting Russian Warships thru the channel.For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.Comment
