p.s;any of you lads use battle vests as opposed to chestrigs?Thought i saw a few pictures of lads wearing them. :tri:
Some guys bought their own vests, but you're honestly better off with PLCE.

Been so long since I was in the army I have no Idea what kind of clothing they supply you with but try to bring Lowe alpine breathable clothing.Stay clear of cotton and the like it just retains sweat and wet and weighs twice as much.

drumpark you really must be out awhile. We get issued two sets of Lowe alpine dryflo underwear now.One for winter(long sleeves and long bottoms)and one for summer(shorts and t-shirt).Great in the heat and warm in the cold.About time the dept started issuing us decent gear!
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.
