Well, due to a number of reasons, it's been a while since I was last running
So decided I was gonna figure out where I was at, so went for it on the DFTC 3.2km route
Thought I'd never see the turn around (1.6km) point at the end of the road, but was chuffed to bits when I came in
at 16 mins 41 secs. Allowing approx. 10 secs for getting across the stile going out and back,
down to approx. 16 and a half mins - Grade 3
Well pleased... have something to work with after all
"Well, stone me! We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!" (Jimmy Greaves)!"

Went out Wed night and did 16 mins 52, which was 20 secs slower, which hacked me off no end, as the weather was ideal for running on Wed
evening (slight drizzle, not too warm, no headwind)
Took the bull by the horns on Friday night and went for it, and did it in 15 mins 30 - a Grade 2 time !
Still am not sure how I did it, but my calves were killing me that night...

Good man, keep at it and the times will soon come down more. I have a 10k this sunday so it will be interesting to see how I get on considering I haven't ran in a month but did 2 spins on the bike at the weekend, a 65k hilly run on saturday and 62k flat/slightly hilly yesterday, one drag went on for about 15km!
Running may take a hit again... Miss TD has gastro enteritis and is getting it out in both directions, the poor thing

Long shot here, but Anyone got the PTL joining instructions for 2Bde RDF? PM me?
"He is an enemy officer taken in battle and entitled to fair treatment."
"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

Docman or Trellheim are usually founts of good information when it comes to stuff like this
They've always come through for me so far...

I certainly know when to pick my stints for running. Just set off to do a 3.2 km run when the heavens opened up. Looked like I'd been fished out of the river when I got back... :(. Still managed a respectable 16 mins 11 secs

Been talked into doing this in 15 weeks time. After a year off its time to get back into training.
Pray for mojo
To close with and kill the enemy in all weather conditions, night and day and over any terrain
Motoring nicely, thankfully, on the run times. 15mins 25 on the 3.2km last night. Not bad for a flabby 42 year old. Now all I have to do is master being able to consistently bang out pressups and situps (my big problem). Anyone got any suggested flexibility exercises which will improve my ability on the situps ?

Not sure about flexibility but I found 2 things helped:
- weighted medicine ball twisting side to side, both while sitting in sit up position off the ground and while standing
- hold a weight across your chest in sit up position and do your sit ups coming as high off the ground as possible
