  • cadet fitness training preperation

    Hi Lads,

I have had my final interview for the army cadets.

So now i am just trying to work on my fitness.

What do you lot think would be a good 8 week training plan?

How far should i be able to run? 10k?

    Any tips would be appreciated

Sorry, should have mentioned that, I'd say grade 3, I can run about 5k, do about 30 push ups an the same sit ups.

If you can run 5k you won't have a problem doing 10. Get yourself a reasonable pair of runners. Asics Kayano's are decent enough.

Start running 10K's every two days. Doing them in 45 - 50mins would be ideal. Increase your press up and sit up count. You will do fitness assessments in the first few weeks.

The fitness training won't be hectic really for a while but if you go there fit it will give you an advantage. Your body as a whole will be stronger which will help you deal with the long busy days.
