        Im hoping to do the Paras 10 (10 miles over hills in 1hr.50m/35lbs kit)and the fan dance next yr for charity, its a good motivator.

        Been tabbing 3 weeks, now up to 5 miles, 40lbs kit in 51 minutes, not bad for someone in their mid 40s. But I do swim and do martial arts so thats kept me at a reasonable fitness level.

        Joined a hiking group want to bring my map reading skills up to scratch.

        If all goes well Id love to have a crack at the long drag for charity 40 miles, 55lbs kit plus metal pipe to simulate a rifle in 20 hours.

        ....But one step at a time.

        Not bad for someone who had to give up all physical activity for a few yrs cause of a debilitating illness and got exhausted after walking 200 yards. Makes me appreciate the freedom to do this stuff so much.

                    Jeez, Mertyr! Avoid Avoid Avoid!
                    'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
                    'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
                    Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
                    He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.
