Probably why MSM TV news is 25% of what it was 25 years ago audience wise. Twenty five years ago an old school journalist would have imparted information, insight and have put the vessel and its crew at the heart of the story. This item was all about her hangin out on the boat!
I was going to compare it to a certain children's TV show with a nuticlal theme tune, but Blue Peter doing the walkabout would have been more Informative and Intreasting then that.
It was the year of fire...the year of destruction...the year we took back what was ours.
It was the year of rebirth...the year of great sadness...the year of pain...and the year of joy.
It was a new age...It was the end of history.
It was the year everything changed.

    • The first volume of the Royal New Zealand Navy professional journal has been published. The Army and Air Force have had in house publications for quite sometime but the Navy has never got around to it. The Simon Murdoch article is interesting reading as a former Head of Foreign Affairs and for awhile the Director of the GCSB, also the Capt Andrew Watts article on Fleet Design, and Professor Rouben Azizian who was a former Soviet spy.

As some people are making submissions to the Defence Commission there is some good stuff buried in here that maybe useful in terms of framing a response.

          • Wait, you can be in the navy AND be a helicopter pilot?
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Yes and it has always been that way for nearly 60 years. All pilots on RNZAF 6 Sqd are commissioned Naval Officers because they go to sea on SH2-G's. Basically the Air Force owns them and maintains them and the Navy flies them.
