I think it's illogical to differentiate between those you KNOW have committed war crimes on the basis of a series of show trials or lack of same.

what else have we to go on
The Irish COnstitution recognises the presumption of innocence
therefore if a Person/Unit hasnt been convicted of something
then we have to presume they are innocent or free from the guilt of war crimes.
If we elect our selves as Judge Jury and executioner
then we are no better than
the scum that tar and feathered that drug dealer in Belfast yesterday
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

For the purposes of a trial I would presume the innocence of everyone, give him a fair trial and then hang him. However millions of Fascist bstards were immolated to maintain my right to express my opinion so I think it only fair to do so. At this juncture I would like to express my appreciation for the unconvicted war criminals of the RAF and the US 8th Air Force who flattened large tracts of Nazi Germany, and died in their thousands doing it, in order that we might live in peace and freedom. And also spout gobshite opinions on internet discussion boards. They even did it so that fat lads can dress up in uniforms and pretend to be SS bstrads.
I empathize somewhat with Hedge - consider if we had '9/11' re-enactments or "Darfur - on your doorstop"
I empathise with him too. But the funny thing about democracy is that we might not like someone's opinion but we do not have the right, within the bounds of reason, to curtail his right to freedom of expression.

The worst sin toward our fellow creatures is not to hate them, but to be indifferent to them: that's the essence of inhumanity.
