it was the rotunda...the round room in the rotunda as far as i recall.
perhaps the ambassador was part of the rotunda at the time. its the only round room i know of around the rotunda complex.

The Ambassador Theatre is located at the top of O'Connell Street in Dublin. It is part of the Rotunda Hospital complex and is a rotunda itself - a circular room with the largest open span 80 feet of unsupported ceiling. It has a seating capacity of over 900.

I'm not certain, but I think there are two 'rotundas' - the circular theatre that is The Ambassador, but the Rotunda Hospital also has the Round Room, which is used as a function room.
