Its due to be officially opened tomorrow by the President of Ireland. 07 / 10 / 2008

The main center piece is dedicated to those who served in WW1.

Now they are officially commemorated for the first time.

May They All + Rest In Peace +

Fantastic. Good to see irishmen are finally being remembered officially for their participation in the ultimate sarcrifice.
I see Cork Co Co is also planning official events commemorating Corkmen who died in WW1 to coencide with the November ceremonies.

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

there is also pictures of many military veterans from O.N.E, IUNVA, IUNV from the U.K.

      America, etc,

pictures of the Irish Army Guard of Honour, Irish Army Band,

Drummers & Pipers from the British Army,

      the President of Ireland etc..etc..

Judging from the pictures, the memories of these brave Mayo men & women,

who served and died in WW1, WW2 and other conflicts

has been served proud. May they all + Rest In Peace +

I am sorry, that I could not have been there,

Saw a clip on the news the night it opened. Well done to those involved. A worthy memorial.
Good to see the redcoats back.
