the Mayo Peace Park Memorial, Castlebar, County Mayo.

Its due to be officially opened tomorrow by the President of Ireland. 07 / 10 / 2008

    http://www.castlebar.ie/gallery/main...2_itemId=19022

The main center piece is dedicated to those who served in WW1.

Now they are officially commemorated for the first time.

May They All + Rest In Peace +

Fantastic. Good to see irishmen are finally being remembered officially for their participation in the ultimate sarcrifice.
I see Cork Co Co is also planning official events commemorating Corkmen who died in WW1 to coencide with the November ceremonies.

Saw a clip on the news the night it opened. Well done to those involved. A worthy memorial.
Good to see the redcoats back.
