Interesting pictures, the locations have changed very little.There must lots of this type of unseen photos out there, will they ever see the light of day i wonder.

Poor quality of the uniforms is interesting. It illustrates quite succinctly how weak the manufacturing base of the country was at the time.

I'm guessing much of what was worn was surplus stock left over in the formerly british barracks. I understand the type of uniform more commonly seen in India or Mesopotamia at the outbreak of WW1 was used by the Construction Corps during the emergency.
Mostly beige/khaki.
