In 1947 all reserve forces were dis-established and in their place were created the First Line Reserve and An Fórsa Cosanta Áitiúil (FCÁ) which was classed as Second Line.
Does anyone know the names of the Different units that were formed in 1947 ?

It was more of a reorg of the LDF. There were Rifle Battalions (eg North Wicklow Battalion). If memory serves correctly there was 99 rifle battalions before this reorg.
