[Groundhog]

Was in Boston the weekend for a visit and managed to see a few historical sites. Unfortunately I didn't have sufficient time to tour the navy yard and in particular get on board the Cassin Young.

Charlestown Navy Yard

USS Constitution
1797 Frigate, one of the first ships in the US Navy. Under repair at the moment hence the cover on teh deck and the cut down masts. The ship still sails a few times a year.

Site of the Boston Massacre outside the Old State House. The lad in the black jacket is standing on the spot.

More or less in the centre of Boston and containing the graves of many historical figures.

54th Massachusetts Regiment Memorial. Sorry about the quality. The 54th was a black regiment made famous by the film Glory.

I was in Boston back in 94. I must say the 54th Massachusetts Regiment Memorial is superb craftsmanship.

I stayed at the Boston Park Plaza, is it still there?

Bunker Hill Memorial from Copp's Hill. The Charles river and Charlestown Navy Yard are in between.

Bunker Hill Memorial. It's not actually on Bunker Hill, it's on Breed's Hill where msot of the battle took place.
