I'm doing a history project for my leaving cert on the Irish armys time in Congo, especially the siege of jadotville. Does anyone know where I can find any good photos or articles about that subject?
Seige at Jadotville is useless don't waste your money and as for the Cosantor it reads like a military training manual, the photos are good though.Heros of Jadotville is a first rate read and tells it like it was.
Other publications are THE CONGO -1960 and THE IRISH ARMY in the CONGO 1960-1964 .
Both useless
Untill recently there was very little on Jadotville in books/online.
If LC history is similar to what it used to be (ie the research topic) to are better off focusing on one element - eg Jadotville. ONUC (the UN operation in the Congo in the 60s is a very large subject).
