Hi all,
I also went to the Tower of London, which is fascinating, given the long and very involved history of the place. There is a fantastic exhibition of Henry VIII's armour, weapons and clothing in the Royal Armoury. There is also a permanent Museum to the Royal regiment of Fusiliers, which is small but very comprehensive and interesting. The whole complex is quite big and takes a full day to get around and is very busy but worth the effort.

If visiting the Tower (or indeed, a lot of other sites in London & the rest of England), and travelling there by train, do visit this site http://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/ and download the relevant voucher(s) before travelling. They give 2 for 1 admission. It also covers 2 for 1 for various shows, etc.

It can make for serious savings, we got 9 of us into London zoo for less than £10 each a few weeks ago.

Beefeaters suspended over bullying claims

Well worth a visit but get there early as there is loads to see.

Somewhere in the Tof L complex, the Colours of the disbanded Irish regiments are 'laid up'. Not sure if they are vailable for viewing by the public though.

The Colours were laid up on June 12 1922.

I have searched for photos but never found any. Would appreciate any further information on this matter.
