I have seen reference to a 75mm artillery piece used by the army during the emergency. Does anyone know what this gun was I am wondering if it was the French Canon de 75 modèle 1897.

Hi there,
The DF had the Springfield and the Ross Rifle, as far as I know. The American weapon was in .30-06 and the Ross was a .303 but was regarded as unreliable when firing British-made .303.It preferred a diet of Canadian rounds but there was a very limited supply of same. They were issued to the LDF, so I was told.
