Veteran honours friend's bravery
A veteran of Ireland’s peacekeeping mission in the Congo has spoken of his efforts to commemorate a friend’s bravery by chronicling how exactly he died while serving with the Irish contingent in Katanga province almost half a century ago, writes Barry Roche .
John O’Mahony has teamed up with journalist, Ralph Riegel, to tell the story of his close friend, Trooper Patrick Mullins (18), from Kilbehenny, on the Cork Limerick border, who was killed in the Congo in 1961.
