  • Eamonn Ceannt

I enjoyed the 1916 Seachtar na Casca episode about Eamonn Ceannt on TG4 tonight.
I also never knew that Cathal Brugha survived a grenade and being shot numerous times.

Brugha was the original Terminator. Can't be bargained with, can't be reasoned with, doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear and absolutely will not stop, ever....

I often wondered if Sean O'Casey deliberately named the pro British Character in the Plough and the Stars "Bessie Burgess" to piss off brugha's supporters.(Of course Rosie Redmond was a prostitute for the same reason perhaps).

Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.
