  • National Day of Commemoration

    I see it's on RTE (inc iPlayer) at 10.55, but closed to the public due to Covid restrictions

    Commemoration ceremonies being held across country

    In line with the Covid-19 restrictions, the ceremony at Collins Barracks is closed to the public
    A National Day of Commemoration ceremonies will be held this morning at Collins Barracks in Dublin, as well as at several other locations across the country.

    The event honours all Irishmen and Irishwomen who died in past wars or on service with the United Nations.

    In line with the Covid-19 restrictions, the ceremony at Collins Barracks is closed to the public.

    Live television coverage of the National Day of Commemoration begins at 10.55am on RTÉ One and on RTÉ Player.

    'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
    'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
    Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
    He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

    New motorcycles of the EOH look better than expected. Why do we have to put up yet again with terrible RTE commentary?
    "Band 2 Brigade".
    German 1: Private Schnutz, I have bad news for you.
    German 2: Private? I am a general!
    German 1: That is the bad news.
