The colour is the same. No darker A SNCO at my call sign has a pair of those ones he bought himself. So I have seen them in the flesh so to speak. Only differences are the type of cordura mesh and the goretex tag on the heels. Otherwise no difference.

Can only assume the ones I've been seeing have faded slightly then

I agree. Comfortable but with a few drawbacks. They are not great if you are standing out in the rain(parades,ranges etc). The mesh toe lets in water over time and the lower height is a nause for trouser blousing.

So got the GTX version from Bond Safety. Very comfy, but to echo Apod, very low profile so yes, you see a lot of PDF personnel who are wearing them, where their trousers bottoms - sized for previous calf length boots - now have socks visible.

Occasionally have same problem myself, when mine ride up.

And for sure, as previously mentioned, the commercial version is darker than the issue version...

IKON was supposed to decentralise and desiloise information in the DF. Unfortunately there's a tendency to use email only and keep LOI's etc restricted to those that issued them. System is good, culture has to change.

Hardly a complicated matter for a LOI to be posted up on IKON, I'd have thought? In my job, all technical documents needed to do our work are on the company's cloud storage, for ease of access to those who need them...

The age old "it is a trial version" is a well used way of getting around wearing non-issued kit, if that is important to the person asking the question

Correction. LOI 01/22 was issue of UBAC etc to AR.
LOI 04/22 Consolidation of black boots stock and issuing of brown boots to the RDF. Currently being implemented.

Not at my location as yet. Ive put in for clothing and boots so will see what comes back. (If anything)
