    1. Any RDF/AR officers who marched in 2016 parade were issued peakers apart from Cav and told to wear them. They were not recovered after. Business case lol. However, its a uniform issue item, so what, move on

    2. Pool issue greatcoats I'd say you'll see it for PDF as well for ORs. Remember they took the Greatcoats off us in 1990 originally to give us a wooly jumper instead, this was a great trade-in

Move on LOL. No dog in the fight. Just the messenger. Good to see RDFRA has its priorities straight as usual. And to clarify. Not all AR Officers were issued peakers for 2016. Many purchased them of their own volition.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Wasn't aware this was a baton that RDFRA had picked up to run with.
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

Who do you think submitted the business case and presented same to the DFCC? AR pers still have no personal issue waterproof clothing or field headwear but this was their priority? Seriously?

Some of us still remember the sword debacle.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

SD’s tender is out. No change to current tunic design.

Maybe for the 2066 commemoration, when we're all long since retired, and the proclamation will be read out be the by then sentient overlord version of Chat-GPT!

One positive is that if the SDs tender is out the Operational uniform tender can’t be far behind.

So the high collar tunic experiment is off the table then?

As an aside, I was recently told the cost of a 2 Cav EOH uniform by a Reservist who has been trained on the escort. Nearly fell over....

Cost apparently was the deciding factor as everyone would need to be individually sized and the uniform would almost be bespoke. They may have got it over the line had the Operational uniform not being up for replacement at roughly the same time. If I was a betting man I would say that’s where the money is going.

That was the reason I was given for the large cost of a 2 Cav EOH rig out
