On the subject. DFCCS went to tender today and ITMP was concurrently Officially released to the DF as our new Camo Pattern on the DF Connect App.
Regarding DFCCS. They are going with a new Approach to tendering. Instead of drawing up the technical specs of the new kit themselves they have given an outline of requirements across a range of environments and asked tenderers to come up with proposals for a system. The system must include base layers, a Uniform layer, Insulation Layers and a Shell Layer. Oh and it's gender specific. No more Unisex kit. Woohoo"Let us be clear about three facts. Maybe if Soldier 2024 hadn't been delayed as long as it has, they might not have gone down the "aquaflage" route at all.
But even you should be able to see there is little point in the Navy, or the Air Corps for that matter, wearing an army uniform for their day to day duties. Specially one designed to blend in with foliage. For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
