For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Just putting this here for reference. How long are the ARW wearing that now?

The Camo pattern? Since 2019 on trial. Since 2022 Officially. The Cut of Uniform? Since this summer.

On the subject. DFCCS went to tender today and ITMP was concurrently Officially released to the DF as our new Camo Pattern on the DF Connect App.

Regarding DFCCS. They are going with a new Approach to tendering. Instead of drawing up the technical specs of the new kit themselves they have given an outline of requirements across a range of environments and asked tenderers to come up with proposals for a system. The system must include base layers, a Uniform layer, Insulation Layers and a Shell Layer. Oh and it's gender specific. No more Unisex kit. Woohoo

Did you spot the hidden FF in the ITMP?

                        • So it's going to be the Single Camo Concept. The naval aquaflage vanity project was short-lived.

                            I wouldn't bet on it.

As soon as the article went up on the Connect app the NS were asking if they were included.

After they did a solo run because they didn't want to wear HonkyCAM.

The words "Fcuk off you made your bed now lay in it" come to mind.

To be fair "Honkey Cam" wasn't exactly fit for their purpose either, and what they had was basically the old DF O/G Working dress, just in Navy. They recently made slight changes to the new pattern uniform, but they'll still need to wear whatever the Army wear if they are based overseas, on land.

Maybe if Soldier 2024 hadn't been delayed as long as it has, they might not have gone down the "aquaflage" route at all.

But even you should be able to see there is little point in the Navy, or the Air Corps for that matter, wearing an army uniform for their day to day duties. Specially one designed to blend in with foliage.
