I just noticed that the AIS plots for those vessels is now 23 hours old, and that was the last signal received before they went dark. Liz is already back in the Solent. Presumably they went bright while passing through busy fishing waters.
    BZ. Thanks.

AIS for QE is a false one. She has been alongside Portsmouth since 13th September.

      • HMNLS Rotterdam (L800) currently enjoying the sights of Dublin for anyone in the East Link area. She's difficult to miss.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

        • HNLMS Karel Doorman scheduled to arrive at the Cruise liner berth in Cobh tomorrow afternoon. All 204.7m of her. She left Greenock this morning so I expect she is currently causing no fuss somewhere in the Irish sea.

Obviously in remote areas medical assets or refuge on hand is of significant benefit and a morale booster. Moving big assets in number is a big preplanning exercise to top up consumables and maintain systems. The UK/US tour with HMS QE11 to the Far East has a large BAE support team travelling and based at Key positions in the AOP. About 100 technicians and major expenditure is involved. L800 scaled down to 135metres is close to how the MRV might look with decent freeboard for launchable boats. Such a ship type could keep our vessels on task for sometime.

Sgt Derek Mooney RIP and at least 1 other member of the ARW were treated on Rotterdam after the accident in Liberia in 2003
