RDF participates in a NATO exercise
There are ways as well if RDF folks want to be involved in this area; if you do, PM me and we'll chat
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "
"No, they're trying to fly the tank"
Yes but bear in mind they're a hungry crew lol . If there are skills to bring to the party though I can confidently say it will get a fair hearing

If your interested in becoming an army reserve officer, talk to your Coy Comdr (you have to be either an NCO or a university graduate)![]()

i.e. the calling notice is out. First closing date Jan 7th or thereabouts. See your unit as timelines will be tight to get onto the list.

German 1: Private Schnutz, I have bad news for you.
German 2: Private? I am a general!
German 1: That is the bad news.
There always has been provision for it in R5 but it has been extremely rarely used.... partially because we had loads of JNCOs. We are critically short of privates yes but we don’t have enough corporals (or Lts) to train the ones to do have
It is also an opportunity to get higher ranking tech specialist.
The training opportunities for many privates now surpass any previously generally available (if they have been involved).
Also if you have a degree - you can be up to 45 years old
"He is an enemy officer taken in battle and entitled to fair treatment."
"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."
I would advise anyone thinking about this to bite the bullet on it. All the Board can say is no. I'd view the Grade III as the bare minimum and start thinking about PT schedule right now. Some formations have already released their PT testing dates for 2019 and they include RDF testing dates already , the prepared man will find this very much easier than the rock-up-on-the-day types.
I did this (along with a noted other member of this forum ) in 2000 and havent looked back ... recommended.

I haven't seen the notice. What is the fitness requirement? Grade 3 or Grade 4?
By.... the way .. some phone conversations last couple of days indicate there will be a lot of people applying which is good - but it may be full too ! Also at commissioning you go where you are told not where you might like.

If you are called for interview make sure that you find out how to do competency based interviews, and prepare your responses for each competency.
Competency Based Interview – Top Tips
Read the job description carefully to get a clear understanding of the role you are being interviewed for and the competencies required.
Give examples from your own experience. Your examples can come from work, academic or even sport experience.
Keep your examples concise, clear, relevant and positive.
STAR answers: ensure your examples have a Situation (background information on the specific situation), a Task (what had to be done), an Action (how you carried out the task) and a Result (what was the end result).
Rehearse your examples to ensure they are clear and concise.
Ensure you listen carefully to the interviewer’s questions and answer the question asked.
Sell yourself – an interview is your sales pitch. You need to “sell†your experience and your skills to the company.
There will be some questions asked that you have not prepared. When this happens, pause, calmly think of the question and give your best answer.
Ask questions – an interview is an opportunity for you to evaluate whether a company is a good fit for your career plans as much as for the company to check if you are a fit for them.
Manage your time, good preparation will help you to answer questions clearly and concisely.
Dress for interview - business attire..

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail
'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.
