I was saddened to hear tonight of the passing of an old comrade Brendan Buckley an ex PO/Mech. I had not seen Brendan for about 9 years, but I remember a man who could keep a crowd enthralled with his stories of his own exploits.
I wish him well in the hereafter, and condolences to his brother Frank (I think still serving) and his family.

sad times indeed rip brendan
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere***
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
