Bottom left picture. It says that the shirt must be worn tucked in during the winter???
Is that still used today or wha? Because i've never seen anyone wearing the uniform with the shirt tucked in at any time of year.

I did a bit of digging and found the Admin order/amendment taht states that the shirt is too be worn outside the pants all year round.I even copied it so i could quote it back to ye ,however i am at home posting this and the letter is in work.I will grab it tomorrow and we can put this one to bed.Sorry about the confusion lads"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

oh hang on, I forgot, your lot will get it before the rangersI knew a simple soldier boy.....
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.
In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
And no one spoke of him again.
You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

Well, if I was to wait for a fleece, I' d still be waiting
I picked up a Brit Soldier 2000 fleece (green, like the previous
Irish one, and fairly similar in appearance, apart from the pocket)
for a few bob, and wear it under the smock when the weather is
cold
