The best kept military secret is now public knowledge. The army tonight confirmed that Lt. Gen Dermot Earley is ill. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dermot and his family. One of natures gentlemen and the greatest Rossie ever.

One of the better COS's I have ever served under

                I wish him good health

and best of luck to his family (except when Kildare are playing DUblin)

It's on the Cover of the Star today Too.
Its Ironic, of all the CoS, Dermot seemed to be the youngest.
I hope that if the ilness does prematurely end his DF career, it will not impact on his life as a civilian.

I was talking about speculating on what he has, how sick he is, or anything beyond what has been reported on. There has been plenty of rumours about him for the past 4 months and he deserves his privacy.
