The armament is presumptive on their humanitarian role in the Canadian Arctic Islands . Could change, with role, if advanced electronics are installed. The costs include future support and are in Canadian Dollars . The Canadian CG version is to be unarmed . It is an expensive package . All ships from day one need to be adaptable to defend or intervene against modern threats from all quarters.

The reported Svalbard acquisition costs (from which the Vard 7-100 ICE evolved from) also never included radars, sensors or the CMS, nor either their integration and are now nearing 2 decades out of date.

The MRV will probably emerge at some stage and hopefully match aspirations. Thinking about the LCVP requirement/operation , I think there should be two that are davit operated ( two point mounted) and similar to the RN LCVP Mk.5. The acquisition should be up to 6 to allow for training and carrying an extra for special missions. The ship should additionally have a fixed crane to match intended lifts to the Mk.5 and also have ramp discharge/loading bays for in port mobile units/cargoes.

No, it was the annual Christmas address with no Q&A.
Just a promotion ceremony at the conclusion for a SNCO.

“Project planning is ongoing for the acquisition of a multi-role vessel to replace the Naval Service flagship LE Eithne. This is in pre-appraisal phase and the exact cost will not be known until the specification of requirements have been defined and the competition goes to the market.“

Well Arrowhead needs an export customer for it to be viable. Someone has to be first, and the NS has a good relationship with Babcock.
Who is gonna come in with a better offer.
We did flag some time back that the (Danish) design did, to a certain extent fulfil the minimum criteria for a Blue/Green-EPV-MRV. Obviously not as envisaged for the RN, but in the other proposed versions, like a smaller Absalon (which is what the Iver Huitfeldt is) with it's flex deck, but not as much in the way of missiles and extra cannon. For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Is this what is being talked about?
Cause it isn’t really what the DF want

One less deck = smaller ?
My point being the Arrowhead is based on this design, the dimensions of which fit the original proposals.Last edited by na grohmiti; 4 February 2020, 09:58.For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
