Inter hospital transfers don't constitute HEMS missions but the morning Ireland sound bite and associated spin is quite impressive. Be interesting to hear a DoD/HSE take on the Dedicated EAS, its success to date and future? Isn't a decision pending? Listening to this it seems there's only one show in town!

As opposed to never owning the CHC aircraft when were paying half a billion over ten years for the service."He is an enemy officer taken in battle and entitled to fair treatment."
"No, sir. He's a sergeant, and they don't deserve no respect at all, sir. I should know. They're cunning and artful, if they're any good. I wouldn't mind if he was an officer, sir. But sergeants are clever."

Air Corps completes 100 air ambulance calls
The Air Corps has completed its 100th Air Ambulance of this year.
The mission involved transferring a young patient from Tralee General Hospital in Kerry to Dublin last night.
The night time airlift involved the use of special night vision goggles for the helicopter crew.

From reading the post in the link you posted it states there will be a working group set up to figure out how it will be provided in the future, I'm sure the options include the AC but that post doesn't specify who will be providing it.
The Minister has asked that his Department establish a Working Group to examine options for the provision of an EAS service into the future. While the 12 month pilot period expired on 3rd June 2013, I have agreed to extend the Air Corps’ participation in order for the Evaluation Report to be considered and for the Working Group to complete its work.

Surprised the I Times and that journo got it wrong , which they did, on CG stats. CR will not be happy after his PR Offensive in November.
Not really surprising that this service is here to stay. The big question is who will operate it going forward? The AC were to run the pilot scheme ( what civil servant came up with that pun!) to see if there was a demand , the DOD still don't want the lads in Bal doing anything and will do anything themselves to get out of the EAS. The CG are keen to keep it on and it is good business for them but is the S 92 a little too big for a dedicated service. What about a tender for a new service with two 139 like choppers to cover the island ...... Not going to happen financially when are paying 50 mil per annum for the CG contract and whatever the cost of EAS in Athlone from the Air Corps .
So best guess is a mish mash of the current system of AC EAS augmented by CG assets ....... The auld Irish solution to an Irish problem.
