'History is a vast early warning system'. Norman Cousins
Watched some of the parade on the thames. In fairness it was very very impressive. The HMS belfast was present and i think the crew gave her 3 cheers when she passed them. Thats what it sounded like anyway.
An estimated 1.2 million people came out to wave at Liz and the rest of the royal family. 1.2 million!!! If U2 were giving a free concert in london they wouldn't get a turn out like that.
why would she need protection from you? what would you do?
she's been safely all over Ireland and thankfully the welcomes from the good people of Ireland far outweighed any malice from the minority.
you were once going to swear allegiance to her and join her forces - remember?
anyhow - i was flying back from Cyprus in an RAF Tristar as it all took place today, so i only saw plenty of cloud cover over London (from above) but the crew were all UJ'd up and there was some interesting commentary from the Captain and Loadmaster.
by all accounts from what i have seen on Sky / BBC it was a great event, despite the weather.
Happy DJ Day.

...Once a Rifleman - Always a Rifleman...Celer et Audax
Well, the evening train I took from London after it was JAMMED! (500 seats, 700 people, I'd guess) They all seemed pretty happy though. Especially the ones I let sit in 1st class for no extra (simply because i had nowhere else to kick them out to - even I know when to pick my battles).
'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
He died that's all. It was his unlucky night. http://www.salamanderoasis.org/poems...nnis/luck.html

HMS belfast will always be present. It has been bolted to her berth there since 1999.
Catch-22 says they have a right to do anything we can't stop them from doing.

You don't get the joke - it is actually very favourable towards the Queen. But having to explain a joke destroys the humour of it.
Don't attack Real Jack, it is actually a good comment on the strength of the Queen and just because you don't get it doesn't mean you can start implying stuff about people.

i highly doubt it is pro-Royalty, to that end i don't need to get it.

Its is a pity you couldn't take part, you are probably too essential to the warfighting.
