I read also that his late father was a Flight Sergeant in the Air Corps. This should further improve the intra-df cooperation.

Cue the Army about to get f**ked over."Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

Face it. We are an Island with a short but relatively secure land border with a friendly on the other side of it. There is three arms to the Defence force. Logic dictates that the distribution should be less 6:1:1 and more 4:2:2, if not even 3:3:3. Generals don't decide policy though. They just implement it.For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Since he took over as D/CoS has there been any difference to how his end of the operation is run, in favour of the NS, indeed, given that the retiring other DCOS is Air Corps I don't see them to be getting any special favour either.

We've had cocaine, bribery and Arsenal scoring two goals at home. But just when you thought there were truly no surprises left in football, Vinnie Jones turns out to be an international player!"
