    Update on General Service Recruitment

    New recruits will be inducted into the Defence Forces between 24th of September and 19th of November with the first group of approximately 200 personnel to be inducted on the 24th of September. The majority of the applicants who will be joining the Defence Forces on 24th September have been contacted at this stage. In some cases, potential recruits have yet to be contacted. The administration concerning their applications is currently being finalised. It is envisaged that these applicants will be contacted in the coming days.

    Update on General Service Recruitment

    200 new Recruits will be inducted into the Defence Forces during week commencing Monday 24 September, in Cork, Kilkenny, Dundalk, The Curragh and Haulbowline (Naval Service). Following on from this, a second group will be inducted into the Defence Forces on 22 October. Administrative arrangements for the induction of the second group (22 Oct) are currently being finalised and successful applicants will be contacted in early October. Should applicants have any specific queries regarding their application they are advised to contact recruitment@defenceforces.ie or the interview centre where they applied to. The interview centre can be contacted by following the link on www.military.ie/army/want-to-find-out-more

            Granted, he was probably acting the bollocks, but there are certain minimum force niceties to be observed here too...

            Why do you think the locals have dubbed it "El Paso" ???

                  I thought you were referring to the recruits going to Dundalk Barracks.

                    Best of luck to the lads getting trained in Dundalk and elsewhere starting from Monday. Dont worry recruit training is only a few months. BTW there are very limited vacancies in the 27Bn post reorg so ...... enjoy Galway
