AMSTEE 10-12 July, any RDF / PDF medics going this year.

Doubt it on the RDF front anyway. Not sure on the PDF...
I knew a simple soldier boy.....
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.

In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
And no one spoke of him again.

You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

I see they're using CEFO (apparently all the stuff to be carried wouldn't fit in the vest)

I also see the new BFA's. Holy fcuk, they're big

So I take it reliability with blanks hasn't got better with their introduction?

It's gotten a whole lot worse. It turned most of our rifles into bolt action ones. The solution apparently is to not tighten it up fully and tape it up when the notches are lined up.

Were you properly instructed on it's use or just handed one when drawing your rifle for an Ex??

As for the CEFO issue i would love to know what exactly they had to carry that couldn't fit in the vest. The first team that went over wore the vest and it worked just fine.

new BFAs once tightened properly work fine. They are an absolute bitch to get off the rifle though. trust the army to give you something without the tool to remove it.
"Are they trying to shoot down the other drone? "

"No, they're trying to fly the tank"

Last years team wore 94 pat aswell. As for the bfa I taught that problem was solved when the cadets complained??
