A lot of the Russian stuff is old standard FAB-500 dumb bombs. They seem to be conserving the guided munitions.

The first Gripen for Brazil was delivered yesterday, by sea. The Aircraft was then towed to the nearby base for acceptance.
Can you imagine if we had to tow any aircraft from Dublin Port to Dublin Airport?

By Guilherme Wiltgen
A true war scheme was set up by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB) to escort the F-39 Gripen FAB4100 through the streets of Navegantes, between the port terminal and Navegantes Airport.
While moving slowly, several military personnel, heavily armed, guaranteed the safety of the modern fighter, which arrived by ship on Sunday from Sweden.
The FAB4100 will remain at Navegantes Airport this week, where Saab technicians will make their flight readiness.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Way back when... the RAF was to get 11x Nimrod AEWs, then they got 7x E3D, and then down to 3x E-7s!
How are they meant to provide cover for our airspace?

Didn't know what thread to put this in, but as mentioned in the naval service section, here is an article from twenty years ago on what the Air Corps might have looked like, from an cosantoir (page 19-21).

It was the year of rebirth...the year of great sadness...the year of pain...and the year of joy.
It was a new age...It was the end of history.
It was the year everything changed.

Still, not having fighters for emergencies will erode the country’s national sovereignty, and it’s hard to see how a country that relies on neighbors to police its airspace can be truly neutral.

It looks like the Swiss people will overwhelmingly vote in support of the replacement of their F/A-18s.
Strange that the ordinary people of a neutral nation with no enemy on their borders would see the need for such aircraft. For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.
