    • What is being worn here?

It looks like we are back to wearing a Parade combat jacket. As well as having a Parade smock...New boots look good though.
For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

Open to correction, but that is the new smock, worn with the hoods removed.
What are you cackling at, fatty? Too much pie, that's your problem.

Yup. Removable hood is a disaster. Either leave it stitched on or wear the smock with it removed as in the picture. At least that looks some bit decent. I have seen some people trying to wear the smock with hoods hanging down their backs and other people wearing them with the hood front closure tied around their throats.

            Both look gank.

New smock will work better with the new body armour system(no hood to get snagged on the Body armour collar) and the sleeve pockets ar a plus. Big flaw is the lack of velcro sleeve panels for interchangable Badging both at home and overseas.
"Let us be clear about three facts. First, all battles and all wars are won in the end by the infantryman. Secondly, the infantryman always bears the brunt. His casualties are heavier, he suffers greater extremes of discomfort and fatigue than the other arms. Thirdly, the art of the infantryman is less stereotyped and far harder to acquire in modern war than that of any other arm." ------- Field Marshall Wavell, April 1945.

                        Correct...
But I'd agree with Trellheim's previous suggestion that there should be a RDF Sergeant Major per formation, serving at the Formation HQ

Last tangent post, but agree with this so much! We went from a time where every FCA/RDF BN had a reserve Sgt Maj, but no RDF officers over the rank of Commandant to five (?) RDF Lt. Cols and one Sgt Maj.

Because a few well placed individuals sold out the RDF for person fulfillment - RDF ID cards, Sam Brownes, peaked caps (that didn't last long) and jobs for their friends
