      Wide angle distortion. The Fuelling truck in the background also has exceptionally oval wheels.
      For now, everything hangs on implementation of the CoDF report.

        • And somebody said that two weren’t necessary? This one doesn’t seem to have been on the ground much since it arrived.
          'He died who loved to live,' they'll say,
          'Unselfishly so we might have today!'
          Like hell! He fought because he had to fight;
          He died that's all. It was his unlucky night.

              Well, this one can’t be taking up much hanger space, the amount of taskings it seems to get ????

                I'm sure they'd just substitute "lack of pilots due to operational tempo" then instead.

                • "a maintenance support logistics flight" ie, we moved parts and mechs. You are running out of things to say when you have to brag about that.

                    I remember when the HS125 did this after a Fouga went U/S at an open day in Cork Airport, and all the Kingairs were already down there.

                      Or maybe it's a point to highlight what usage they can give us in case there's a chance for another?

                        Could they not have caught the train?

                          Train doesn't go to the Airport, and probably less fuss hopping in the back of the then Govt Jet, rather than trying to get a travel warrant.

                          • A new satellite-based air traffic surveillance system - the first of its kind in the world - which will accurately pinpoint the location of any aircraft in distress, has been launched in Co Clare.

                            Will this detect Russian Aircraft flying up and down the west coast?

                              No it is transponder based

                                This is the ADS-B system which is intended to replace secondary radars which rely on a transponder which is interrogated by the radar. In ADS-B there is a transmitter which is constantly broadcasting the aircraft height, speed, direction and identity to a receiver which can be space or ground based. As the signal can be spoofed Primary radar is still needed where possible, to confirm the ADS-B data and act as back-up.
