On tough courses in years past Pat/Vickers tended to turn up to observe and cheer me up with a quiet word. I had huge respect for him , a perfect gentleman .

As the founder and owner of IMO he will be a huge loss to us here as well

      RIP

I went into an Italian restaurant and ordered dessert and they gave me tiramisu and a blindfolded horse and I said No, I said mask a pony (mascarpone)

Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.

                                Rest in peace, sir.
I knew a simple soldier boy.....
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.

In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
And no one spoke of him again.

You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.
